Lucia Nogueira: Smoke and Drawings – Maltings, Berwick

This exhibition displays the work of Brazilian artist Lucia Nogueira (1950–1998), who specialised in sculptures, installations, video works and drawings.

Her art often made references to the body and she explored the relationship between objects and language. She also drew obsessively, creating strange and surreal depictions of the world on paper.

You’ll also be able to watch Nogueira’s film Smoke, which explores the transitions between sea and sky, sky and land, night and day, the town’s ramparts, and Berwick as the ultimate border town.
