Indie-Rock group ‘Spilt Milk’ from Gateshead, first came into the spotlight in early 2019; their combination of anthemic guitar lines, intimate lead vocals, and socially aware lyrics all contribute to an intricate sound, that is reflective of young North East culture.
The band tried to make the most of lockdown and produced streaming gigs on Facebook from home. The ‘Semi-Skimmed Sessions’ proved to be really popular and the lads even made it onto the Georgian’s online lineup on a couple of occasions.
Now they are looking forward more than ever to getting back out and gigging in-front of a live audience.
Teessiders might be familiar with the band, as they played for the BBC’s Fireworks festival at Riverside in Stockton on a couple of occasions and the triplet brothers started their musical journey busking in town centres around the area.
The bands relatable lyrics, reflecting teenage culture, make them a strong outfit to compete in the songwriting scene. Aside from playing local gigs and support slots, ‘Spilt Milk’ have opened the show at Newcastle Pride, played gigs for the BBC and Metro Radio and headlined sell out gigs in Newcastle. The band is, triplet brothers Oscar (Rhythm guitar/lead vocals), Isaac (lead guitar), Theo (drummer) and Thomas (bass).
