The Friarage Theatre has been built to the same standards as the Princess Alexandra Auditorium but provides a more intimate space with 140 seats.

The HD projector and surround sound system means it is the perfect venue for live screenings from prestigious theatre companies such as the National Theatre, RSC and ENO. The theatre-style seating is comfortable and has spacious leg room. During your visit to the theatre, a variety of refreshments are served from the modern foyer space before screenings and during intervals.

The theatre was opened in 2016 and has become a community-hub for live screenings straight from top venues in London and from around the world. It also hosts smaller events such as lectures and concerts.
