Middle of Somewhere: Joanne Coates – BALTIC

Middle of Somewhere is the latest exhibition by working-class visual artist Joanne Coates.

In this new body of work, Joanne presents an ensemble of photographs, sound and installations which explore parallels between people and places.

Supported by the 2024 Vasseur Artists’ Award, this stunning exhibition delves into memories, realities, climate change, the cost of living crisis in rural areas, disparities of wealth and the impact on low-income communities.
