‘Where did all the Magpies go?’: Takeover Festival 2023 – The Customs House

This theatre production is part of The Custom House’s Young Writer in Residence opportunity and is written by talented young writer Holly Readshaw.

Late at night, Hazel returns home from her holiday in Spain. She sleeps on the sofa and wakes to learn that her housemates have no idea who she is. Hazel soon realises, to her horror, that not only have they forgotten her, they’ve also forgotten the existence of Gateshead and Newcastle altogether…

This brilliant comedy reflects on how awful life would be if the North East didn’t exist.
