Fiona Crisp: Weighting Time – Sunderland Museum And Winter Gardens

This exhibition showcases 30 years of work by British artist Fiona Crisp, whose work explores how we can connect to spaces and ideas beyond our lived experience.

Weighting Time displays large-scale photographic works and film installations, which focus on the construction and framing of a ‘view’ in visual, political and philosophical terms.

From photographs that use thresholds to convey tension, to her Still Films series where life-sized figures are suspended in action, Crisp’s works draw attention to the camera’s own ‘act of looking’.
