WHAT TO EXPECT

So, what exactly are Bistro Nights at NEST, you may ask? Well, let us tell you, they’re not just your run-of-the-mill mid-week dinners you’ll find in some other Newcastle restaurants. These nights offer a culinary experience, a weekly celebration of seasonal flavours and add a bit more excitement to your working week.

At NEST, it’s always been about more than just food; it’s about community and bringing people together. And these new Bistro Nights are bringing the Heaton neighbourhood closer together, offering a vibrant atmosphere through the finest food and drinks.

THE MENU

Get ready to tantalise your taste buds at Bistro Nights at NEST, where a seasonal and diverse menu takes centre stage, inspired by the culinary roots of head chef Chris. You’re in for a treat with the array of options on the Bistro Nights menu.

For starters

Let’s kick off your weeknight dining experience with a burst of seasonal flavours. How about starting with a delightful bowl of red Thai curry sweet potato soup? This silky blend of sweet potatoes, coconut cream, and zesty lime, served with warm sourdough bread, is a comforting way to begin.

If you’re a seafood enthusiast, paradise awaits you with choices like salt and pepper monkfish paired with garlic and lime aioli, or Scottish scallops served with curried carrot purée and carrot bhaji bits.

Or if you’re all about traditional autumnal flavours, feast your eyes on the sticky pork cheeks, complete with black pudding soil and winter-spiced apple chutney.

For the main event

Embrace the hearty autumn vibes with the 12-hour lamb shoulder, a tender dish served with creamy garlic mash, roasted roots, and a rich pan sauce. And if you’re a fan of the classics, you can’t go wrong with a succulent sirloin steak, served with triple-cooked chips, hollandaise sauce, and a sprinkle of Parmesan and rocket.

Fish lovers, look no further than the fish pie, accompanied by fresh buttered greens, or the stone bass complemented by chorizo and butterbean cassoulet, and crispy kale.

And veggies, NEST hasn’t forgotten about you. Choose from options like porcini mushroom mascarpone and sage risotto with pine nut salad, or roasted butternut squash tortellini with baby spinach, Beldi olives, and Berwick edge cheese.

To sweeten things up

Now, let’s talk about the grand finale – desserts. After the flavourful journey of your meal, why not refresh your palate with a citrusy lemon brûlée paired with raspberries and shortbread?

And if you’re after some indulgence, the white chocolate and pistachio cookie dough slice with vanilla ice cream should be on your radar. For those craving something fruitier, opt for the baked vanilla cheesecake with blackberry and mascarpone.

And if you lean more towards savoury delights, cheese lovers, you’re in for a treat with a selection of cheeses served with house chutney, frozen grapes, and wheat crackers.

Get ready to mark your calendars and prepare your taste buds for a memorable dining experience that celebrates the best of the season’s offerings and a sense of community.
