  • Advertisement Feature

Think New York-style pizzas, new sharing platters, nachos, pasta and sweet treats. With feed-the-family offers Monday-Thursday from 4pm, it’s a no-brainer for a mid-week treat with the kids.

THE VIBE

Imagine a cool New York pizza joint, a huge wood-fired oven and relaxed vibes – drop it into the heart of Gosforth and you’ve got Pizza Dough Co.

It’s super family-friendly so during afternoons and early evenings expect a wholesome buzz, but it’s also a great spot for catch-ups over cocktails and craft beers, or a chilled date night.

Walk-ins are welcome so if the pizza urge takes over, you can head straight down. And there’s plenty of free parking at the Three Mile too.

THE NEW MENU

Due to its popularity, Pizza Dough Co has launched a new menu, with enough variety to suit everyone in the family. Here are some of our favourite new additions:

The dough balls: Choose from a range of flavours including garlic, sea salt and rosemary, smoked pancetta, mozzarella and white sauce, chorizo, tomato, garlic and basil or traditional cheese and tomato.

The starters: Tempura broccoli with lime and chilli dip, spiced meatballs, loaded nachos and of course, garlic breads.

Sharing platters (that you won’t want to share): Including an insane-looking mixed seafood board, as well as the more traditional cured meats and a veggie option that features hot honey halloumi, spiced onion bhajis, garlic bread and a coconut and mango dip…

Sweet pizzas: Alongside the traditional dessert offering, Pizza Dough Co has introduced two sweet pizzas – Nutella and fresh raspberry or fudge toffee, marshmallows and toffee sauce. Happy full tums guaranteed.

THE PIZZAS

Ever wondered what exactly is New York-style pizza? We’ve got you.

It developed from Neapolitan-style pizza when Italian immigrants brought pizza to New York (and America) in the early 1990s. In short, it’s large and wide with a crust that’s foldable yet crispy.

Pizza Dough Co really care about the dough – it’s double-fermented for 20 hours before toppings are added fresh upon ordering, then cooked in the wood-fired pizza oven to create the signature charring on the crust. Yum.

And with this new menu, whether you love a humble Hawaiian or something more exotic, there’s a feast of flavours to try. Here are the ones we’re dreaming of:

Truffle Shuffle

Tomato, Mozzarella, Mushrooms, Fresh Rosemary, Truffle Oil, Garlic Mayonnaise, Red Onion Marmalade & Rocket (V) (VG Option)

Chicken Tikka

Tomato Base, Fresh Chillies, Red Onion, Mango Salsa & Coriander

Nduja & Burrata

Korean Spiced Beef
