In Partnership with Rebecca Ridley

Contemporary ceramics maker Rebecca Ridley creates a variety of gorgeous homeware and tableware from her studio in Newcastle.

Finding inspiration in a variety of different places – most prominently in the materials themselves – Rebecca playfully explores the materials and her creative processes in her work.

Having graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA Hons in Decorative Arts, and now working from a studio space with The Brickworks in the centre of Newcastle, Rebecca enjoys the freedom of creating ceramics fluidly – designing as she makes. The results are the creation of an array of idiosyncratic, timeless and truly charming objects in her collection.

Clay offers the perfect base for Rebecca’s work: allowing vibrant bursts of colour and incredible textures to be accentuated by simple forms in the homeware and tableware she creates. It also provides the opportunity for continuous learning and exploration into the processes and techniques used in the craft.

Realising the importance of handmade pieces in the current climate of mass-produced products, Rebecca is mindful to allow all of the components she creates to be distinctive, and for each of them to take on their own characteristics. So if you’re looking for something truly individual for your home, we suggest you look no further.
