Foodies, listen up. NE1’s Newcastle Restaurant Week is back between Monday 7th – Sunday 13th August 2023.
Over 100 bars, cafes and restaurants in Newcastle are taking part and will be cutting the cost of their menus for one week only thanks to NE1.
Newcastle Restaurant Week is the most popular event in the city’s hospitality calendar with the mission to showcase some of the best local restaurants that the Toon has to offer.
It’s all about giving us a chance to try some new eateries at a discounted price. We’re talking two or three courses for just £10, £15 and £20 per person at some of our city’s top restaurants – it would be rude not to, right?
So, whether you want to visit your foodie favourites or fancy trying one of the city’s latest openings, feast your eyes on our pick of menus we’ll be trying this Newcastle Restaurant Week.

THE FRENCH QUARTER, NEWCASTLE

This cosy, Parisian-style wine bar is a dream when it comes to special meals out without any fuss. Challenging the notion that French dining is overly formal, this Newcastle restaurant serves a small plates menu for sampling, satisfying and sharing.
With homemade chicken liver pâté for starters, pork tenderloin served with bistro potatoes and pink and black peppercorn sauce, and mousse au chocolat for pudding, here you can discover the finest flavours of authentic French cuisine.

For those of you who were heartbroken at Thali Tray’s closure, we have good news – it’s back. And this time in a swanky new spot inside Bealim House. This fresh face to Newcastle Restaurant Week is known best for serving its mains in quirky dinner Thali trays that are perfect for the ‘gram.
The Indian street food restaurant with gastropub vibes is serving up a discounted menu of scrumptious spicy dishes where you can enjoy a taster and Thali tray that includes two curries. We’re talking masala fries and curry aioli, kadhi pakora and paneer makhani and laal maas and banjara chicken.

Also new to Newcastle Restaurant Week this year, Gaucho is set to impress. Gaucho, Newcastle, has transformed a Grade II listed building on Pilgrim Street into a restaurant and late-night cocktail bar and serves up Argentinian steaks, wines and cocktails with panache.
During this Newcastle Restaurant Week, expect sea bass ceviche for starters, chorizo sirloin steak that’s tender yet succulent with a strip of juicy crackling parsley for the main event, and pistachio ice cream to finish things off.

Bringing a whole new dining concept, a unique smoke-and-fire cooking style, to Newcastle, this Indian restaurant is said to be the first in the UK to offer a retro Indian comfort food experience. It’s also been proven a popular jaunt for celebs including Harrison Ford, Amanda Holden and Gordon Ramsay.
Enjoy a pre-starter to share, a small/smoke plate and a heritage dish for only £20. From spiced chickpeas with yoghurt to start things off to onion and samphire bhaji to get your taste buds tingling, and slowed cooked Kashmiri lamb Rogan Josh curry served with a nan for your main.

If you’re after some wining and dining this Newcastle Restaurant Week, look no further than Hibou Blanc. This sophisticated dining destination is complete with chandeliers and wood accents and serves locally driven, flavour-led seafood and meat dishes alongside indulgent desserts.
Expect a menu that has plenty of dish options. We’re talking basil pesto and mozzarella pastry twist for starters, slow-cooked shoulder of pork for your main, and poached apricots with crème fraiche and honey to sweeten things up.

Another new face to this year’s Newcastle Restaurant Week is Missy Milieu’s – a new all-day relaxed bar and bistro in the heart of Toon. If you’re after a culinary experience in a very Instagrammable setting, then Missy Milieu’s has got you covered.
From crispy pork belly with black pudding bhaji to slow-cooked shoulder of lamb flatbread with mint raita yoghurt and Cajun fries, and sticky toffee pudding with bourbon sauce, the food menu here features culinary creations, homemade delicacies and twists on British classics.
