The Honey Tree, Heaton

68 Heaton Road, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, NE6 5HL

Okay, so it’s not a farm shop, but it’s giving farm shop.

The Honey Tree in Heaton is an independent health food shop specialising in healthy, fresh and local organic foods. They have fresh veg delivered weekly, and fresh bread delivered daily, all sourced with taste, health and welfare in mind.

Our favourite thing about The Honey Tree is their veg boxes. Each week the team make up veg boxes based on what is in season and what customers are loving at the time – so it’s always different. Plus, if you can’t make it to the store, they can deliver – just check their website for more details.

Broom House Farm Shop, Durham

Broom House Farm, Witton Gilbert, Durham, DH7 6TR

Broom House Farm Shop won both Small Farm Shop of the Year and Farm Shop Butchery of the Year in 2023, so it’s a must visit.

Although they specialise in high quality beef, lamb and pork you can also shop lots of other local delights, like cheese, honey and dairy products, all while enjoying gorgeous views over Durham City Centre.

We recommend visiting on a weekend morning and heading to the cafe for the freshest Full English ever, with ingredients all supplied by the farm – but get there early, it’s super popular.
