A shoot-‘em-up speakeasy with cocktails, cold beers and American-style bites? Ok, it’s definitely time to check out Point Blank Shooting…
Let’s glock, girls.
We’re proud to be based in Newcastle.
The city has talent and drive; it’s got character and charm; it has class, decency, a cracking work ethic and an even better attitude towards playtime. What it didn’t have – until September of last year, anyway – was a simulation shooting range-come-cocktail bar. Go figure.
We didn’t realise we even needed somewhere like Point Blank Shooting in our lives. But that was before we took a little trip down to this shoot-‘em-up-style speakeasy for ourselves. What we discovered? Shooting simulation guns while sipping colourful cocktails and snacking on pizza and chicken wings is hella fun.
A chance to unleash all that tension built up from the working week, a chance to crush a little healthy competition among your pals or partner (or both), and a chance to do something different – Point Blank Shooting really does make your night out that little bit more… well, explosive.
Oh yeah, we almost forgot to mention two little words that’ll fill your hearts with joy. Bottomless. Brunch.
We hear you gals – say no more. We caught up with Stella Greathead, Head of Sales and Events at Point Blank Shooting, to find out everything you need to know…
What’s Point Blank Shooting all about?
Point Blank Shooting is a state-of-the-art simulation shooting range and the ultimate competitive socialising experience!
The concept – which is the first of its kind – combines skillset shooting with cold beers, bespoke cocktails, and great bites. Mix in competitive leader boards, 200 different shooting scenarios, a mega venue and you’re in for a VERY fun evening!
Can we shoot different guns?
Yes! You have your own personal armoury when you book a range with us, which includes a M1911 pistol, a Glock, a Desert Eagle, a MP5 and a M4.
How hard is it?!
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never shot before – we have scenarios for all abilities! We make sure there’s something for everyone with over 200 different scenarios to choose from, and our amazing team are on hand at all times to give you some top shooting tips.
Is there a minimum/maximum number of people we can book with per range?
Each range can hold up to 10 people, but we can take bookings as small as two.
We have five ranges in our Newcastle venue, which means we can have up to 50 people on the ranges at any one time. If you’re looking for a bigger event, the whole venue actually holds up to 150 people!
You’ve got outposts in Manchester and Liverpool. Why did you feel it was the right time for Point Blank Shooting in Newcastle?
Newcastle was actually our second opening. We planned to open in March of last year, but due to… well, you know what, that was postponed. We personally love Newcastle and its offering as a city. Being a northern brand, we wanted another northern powerhouse in the PBS family – as opposed to branching out down South just yet.
Tell us a little more about your bottomless brunches on Sundays.
Our bottomless brunches are £35 per person for 90 minutes of unlimited prosecco, beer, pizza and shooting. It’s so much fun! We actually really enjoy hosting the brunches too, so it’s a win–win for us!
And you have a Happy Hour too, right?
Yes! Although it’s a little longer than just one hour… We offer two cocktails for £9 every day between 12pm–7pm, except Saturdays.

How would you describe the food menus at PBS?
American-style bites that you can enjoy while you play. Think killer wings, pizza, fries and hot dog vibes!
We can imagine there are a lot of guys interested in visiting. What would you say to encourage more women to come along and give Point Blank Shooting a go?
Some women are slightly cautious I think, when they hear the words ‘shooting range’ and ‘guns’. However, as soon as we get them through the door it changes everything and they always end up loving it. We’ve found that women tend to be better shooters than the men too, as they actually take the time to listen and practice what they’ve been taught in the demos – we love it!
Point Blank Shooting is also predominately led by women, so it’s definitely a safe space.
What does the future look like for Point Blank Shooting?
All guns blazing! We have a plan to open another 10 sites across the UK! We can’t wait to continue on this amazing journey.
And you’ll find Point Blank Shooting at: The Gate, 117 Newgate Street, Newcastle NE1 5RF
