What? A boutique ground-floor apartment sleeping up to 4 guests

Where? Whitby

When? 10th – 31st December; from 1st January

If you’re looking for a luxury stay on the North Yorkshire coast, look no further than The Madison. This newly-renovated, boutique apartment has luxury décor and interiors, sleeps up to four guests across two sumptuous bedrooms and is just a short stroll from the delights of Whitby.

Fully equipped for all self-catering stays (complete with coffee machine – our saviour!), The Madison’s dining area has a smart, industrial feel and, should the weather allow, a beautiful private seating area outside means you can dine alfresco under the winter skies. Plus, the comfy lounge area indoors is bolstered by the fact that you’ll have Netflix throughout your stay, so good luck getting off the velvet three-seater sofa, guys.

HLN Top Tip: Need space for a bigger party this winter? The Madison is one of three adjoining apartments in Whitby that you can reserve all together – so 13 of your nearest and dearest can breakaway in style.

What? A welcoming two-bedroom apartment, sleeping up to 4 guests

Where? Saltburn-by-the-Sea

When? 10th – 31st December; from 1st January

Nestled on the North Yorkshire coast, Smuggler’s Rest is – in our humble opinion – the best-kept secret in Saltburn since the actual smugglers who lived and misbehaved here in the early 19th century.

Situated within a traditional Victorian seaside building, this basement apartment is ideally situated for quick and easy access to Saltburn’s long–stretching beach, as well as its wealth of cafés, bars and restaurants.

Not that you need to leave this apartment at all. Smuggler’s Rest is guaranteed to give you some much-needed respite, too, with a spacious, open-plan living and dining area just made for kicking back in. A plush, corner sofa is complemented by two separate dining tables and a spectacularly modern kitchen, where you can cook up a storm (whether there’s one raging outside or not).

The family bathroom has style and elegance in equal measure, while the two sumptuous bedrooms ooze comfort. So, there’ll be no judgement from us if you simply decide to cosy on down in this beautiful bolthole for the entire duration of your stay.

What? An impressive fourth-floor apartment sleeping up to 5 guests

Where? Whitby

When? 12th – 31st December; from 1st January

You know we’re not messing about when we bring out the penthouse – and this impressive fourth-floor apartment in Whitby is no exception to the life of luxury we’ve come to expect from the title.

With unrivalled sea views facing out at West Cliff Beach, Pier View Penthouse is guaranteed to have you feeling like a VIP. Think a navy, shaker-style kitchen, a plush, cosy living area with flatscreen TV, a king-sized master bedroom with ensuite, smart, marbled bathrooms and private balconies from which you can watch the waves with your morning coffee.

Best of all, you’re just a short stroll from the promenade and Pier Road (where Whitby’s famous arcades and fish restaurants are) in one direction, and the town’s medieval, cobbled streets lined with boutiques and pubs on the other.
