We all know how important self-love is, but when we look in the mirror there’s always something we’d love to change.

Whether that be a small overbite or wanting to straighten out those crooked teeth, as we get older, we sometimes feel like it’s too late to do anything about our dental concerns.

But why shouldn’t we feel confident inside and out, no matter our age? No one shouldn’t feel confident about their own smile.

We know what you’re thinking: ‘I can’t wear metal braces at my age’. But in a world where treatments are constantly developing, we’ve found one that works its magic invisibly and has transformed smiles around the world. We present to you, Invisalign.

Invisalign is an invisible orthodontic treatment that helps to straighten teeth without the use of typical metal braces. Invisalign involves wearing a series of clear, custom-made plastic aligners that help shift your teeth into the correct position. We can guarantee it will leave you smiling from ear to ear.

The best part? You don’t have to travel far to get this treatment. You can book in for Invisalign at Bupa Dental Care Darras Hall.

It’s safe to say that no one enjoys going to the dentist, but we can guarantee that Bupa Dental’s friendly team will make you feel instantly at ease. Many of the team have been there for over 25 years and all of them love getting to know their patients.

The team also undergo annual training and professional development courses, which helps keep them up to date with the latest treatments and procedures, so you can rest assured that you’ll only be getting the very best, most effective treatment in the market right now.

So, now you know that you’re in safe hands, we caught up with Bupa Dental’s Practice Manager, Lucy Robson, to ask her all our questions about Invisalign to help us get started on our smile journey.

Good news, Bupa Dental Care Darras Hall is offering free whitening for anyone who has Invisalign by quoting ‘High Life North’ – a massive saving of £350!

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that are custom-made for your teeth. Constructed from comfortable BPA-free plastics, these aligners gradually move your teeth into position by applying gentle pressure. Patients are given new aligners every few weeks throughout their treatment until their teeth reach the desired position.

Step 1: Initial consultation

The dentist will explain how Invisalign works and whether you’re a suitable candidate. Photos will be taken and your expectations discussed.

Step 2: Invisalign scan

The dentist will do a 3D scan using our top-of-the-range iTero intraoral scanner. This scan logs the current position of your teeth and is sent directly to Invisalign, who then set up a treatment plan for you.

Step 3: Invisalign ClinCheck

This is where we show you the proposed treatment plan that Invisalign have sent to our dentist from your initial scan. You will be shown a 3D simulation video and the expected outcome of the final result.

Step 4: Invisalign fit

After your last appointment, the dentist will confirm your treatment and Invisalign sends your aligners to the practice. At this first aligner appointment, the dentist will show you how to put the aligners in and take them out. You’ll be sent away with four aligners for you to change weekly by yourself at home.

We have a monthly review with you to make sure your teeth are moving as they should be and, if so, give you the next month’s worth of aligners.

How much is Invisalign?

The price varies from person to person, depending on how much movement of the teeth is needed, but  starts at £2500. This is something our dentist will discuss with you at your free Invisalign consultation. We offer finance interest-free, which you can also discuss with us.

How is Invisalign different to having metal braces?

The main difference is the appearance. Invisalign aligners are so discreet, people don’t notice you’re wearing them.

What aftercare is needed for the aligners?

When you have completed your Invisalign treatment, we recommend wearing night-time aligners for a period, otherwise your teeth may start to move back into their original position.

What happens after Invisalign treatment?

After Invisalign treatment, we recommend you continue with your routine dental check-ups, whether that be with your existing dentist or with us if you wish to become a regular patient.
