Sunshine, spritz and sunsets – nothing says summer more than these three things.
We love all those vacation vibes. Just sitting back, watching the world go by while sipping on a refreshing spritz as you watch the sunset reflecting across sparkling waters. Sounds like a world away from the bustling Newcastle City Centre, right?
…Until now.
One of our favourite cocktail bars in Newcastle, Mother Mercy, has now recently opened a new terrace that brings all those holiday feels without having to jet off abroad.
Introducing the Sunset Spritz Terrace. You’ll find this new cocktail bar in Newcastle at By The River Brew Co., which overlooks the River Tyne and has become a new go-to spot for summer drinks.
And it isn’t just the Sunset Spritz Terrace that’s serving up the taste of summer, Mother Mercy’s launched an exclusive spritz menu across all four of their venues.
Whether you want to go for a classic Aperol Spritz as a retail therapy pitstop in their luxury bar in Fenwick, try something new with a Poolside Spritz complete with rosé wine, prosecco and mango inside their basement bar in Cloth Market, or want to feel refreshed with a Hugo Spritz at their cocktail container inside By The River Brewery, Mother Mercy is starting to take over the Newcastle summer drinking scene.
Oh, and if there’s a group of you or if one spritz just isn’t enough for you, Mother Mercy offers pitchers of each spritz that serves four. A pitcher of cocktails? We’re sold…
Of course, the award-winning cocktail bar’s menu doesn’t stop at spritz, there are plenty of cheeky cocktail options, too. We’re talking Italian G&Ts (Hepple gin, Italicus, bergamot with cucumber tonic), Piña Coladas and Tequila Sunrises to really embrace those summer vibes. Plus, if you’re after a non-alcoholic beverage, there’s no need to worry as there are many mocktail alternatives to our favourite cocktail classics.
HOW TO WIN A HOLIDAY TO ITALY
It’s not just cocktails that this award-winning cocktail bar in Newcastle is serving this summer.
To celebrate their Summer of Spritz campaign, Mother Mercy is giving two lucky people a chance to win a holiday to the land of the spritz: Italy that’s worth £500 courtesy of Designer Travel. Plus, stay tuned for exciting events, competitions, bar takeovers and collaborations as Mother Mercy is set to make this summer one to remember.
To enter the competition, visit any Mother Mercy venue (Mother Mercy Cloth Market, Mother Mercy at Fenwick, Mother Mercy’s Sunset Spritz Terrace and Mother Mercy By The River), order a signature spritz and “share your spritz” by using the #MMSummerOfSpritz and tagging Mother Mercy account on Instagram (T&C’s apply, full details can be found in the venue or online).
The competition will run from June 1st until 31st July with the winner announced in time to head to Italy at the end of the summer.
