Re-opening on 15 July, Raithwaite Sansend is the perfect staycation for those looking for lots of space and a heavy dose of fresh Yorkshire air.

Situated at Sandsend beach in North Yorkshire, the hotel and spa has used lockdown to remaster the whole guest experience to ensure it is safe and to enable guests to feel relaxed.

Safety measures include:

Prior to arrival guests are to fill in a check-in health questionnaire.

Guests will be able to use Raithwaite’s new mobile app to check offers, menus, hotel information and local guides.

Both check-in and check-out will be carried out in designated areas away from the main reception and final bills are to be emailed. Payments are to be taken by card, as there are to be no cash payments throughout the hotel.

Raithwaite Sandsend currently has 73 rooms in total. To ensure lots of space for all guests, only 64 rooms will be available for the re-opening 39 located in the Hall and 24 in the Keep, many of which come with private outdoor space. Room keys are sanitised before given to guests and there will be a new guest amenity package provided, including disposable gloves, masks, hand sanitiser.  New room deep cleaning procedures implemented focusing on touching points as well as pillows, duvets and linen to be quarantined for 72 hours in designated rooms, there are also now no in-room minibars available.

Dogs are still welcome, however, guests with pets now need to bring their own dog beds.

Furniture in public areas has been rearranged to meet social distance standards and hand sanitiser stations can be found throughout the hotel.

The restaurant, conservatory and bar areas have been adapted to respect the social distancing guidelines and the restaurant capacity has been reduced to just 60%.  For the first time, Raithwaite Sandsend will also offer a room service menu.

For staff, on-going training will be carried out to ensure that they are all up-to-date with the latest government guidelines and protocols.

Staff health questionnaires and temperature checks to be carried out before a shift starts.

The spa will run at a reduced capacity with access of only up to 10 people. Around the pool, loungers have been re-located in pairs and at least 2 metres apart from the others. Time slots will be introduced with 30 minutes between them to allow the spa attendants to disinfect the spa areas.
