It’s October. We’re feeling the chill, the central heating has been turned on and you may even find yourself sitting in front of a fire. But just because the temperature has dropped, it doesn’t mean that your approach to fashion has to, too. In fact, Autumn fashion is often the most fun as you get to layer up pretty pieces, proving it to be the most practical season for clothes, too.

So, with this in mind, we’ve uncovered some of the ‘must-have’ Autumnal hits from none other than Mango. Despite originating from Spain, you can always count on them for the colder months, too…

1. Belt Suit Blazer - £79.99

Do you ever find yourself scrolling the ‘new in’ section of an online shop, only to edge your head backwards, double chin and all, in sheer excitement of stumbling across a really good staple? Well, that’s exactly how I felt about this blazer.

I can imagine this item being worn so many different ways – as it’s shown in the photo, making the most delicious date night look. For a more casual look, try removing the tie-belt detail, and throwing it over a printed tee and jeans, for a pristine but cool daytime look. It can even be layered under a coat for winter, with the soft grey showing underneath, oozing elegance without really trying. Basically, this blazer is an investment piece, and it’s just been added to my basket…

Not only could these trousers be worn as a two-piece with its counterpart, but it’d look just as collected with a knitted jumper. A muted beige would work well with some trainers, or a black rollneck and some loafers for something a bit more sophisticated.

And fully expect the same thing to happen with this gorgeous ecru number. It’s slightly oversized and a thicker fabric than you’d expect, keeping you warm on crisp Autumn mornings, whilst also being flexible enough for layering options, such as pairing an overcoat on top. Therefore, this bicolour bag is the perfect compromise – the black keeping me firmly in my comfort zone, but the white sprinkling some calming tones to my outfit when faced towards the front. So, if you find yourself to be in this same fashion predicament, this bag may just be your beckoning, too.

10. Belt Straight-Fit Trousers - £29.99

I don’t know about you, but I thought my love for loungewear was left behind in May as I waved goodbye to being housebound (and with that my extremely short-lived love for making banana bread and Couch to 5k). But it turns out, I couldn’t have been more wrong…

With the local lockdown in place, and perhaps an upcoming national lockdown (who knows anymore?), I find myself appreciating comfy casualwear all over again as I work from home for the foreseeable future. And with that, it only seems right that I purchase this pair of ‘comfy but appropriate enough to answer the door to the Postman in’ trousers.

11. Jersey Shirt Dress - £49.99

When you hear the words ‘knitted dress’, it’s likely that you think of the traditional cable-knit turtleneck that seems to appear on the high-street every single time the temperature drops below 10°C. However, I’m here to happily inform you that Mango has produced this glorious version of the knitted frock, that looks like it would well for both sunshine-filled days and cooler temperatures, too. When it’s a little warmer pair this with white trainers and a trench coat, or, when the temperature drops, Chelsea boots and your go-to coat for a cosier look.

12. Leather-effect elastic joggers - £35.99

To refrain from a full-on Ross from Friends moment, wave goodbye to skin-tight leather-look trousers, and instead, try something a little comfier like a jogger silhouette. I actually bought this exact pair last year and have found them to be as easy to wear as jeans. I’ve worn them with everything from a knit and trainers, to heeled boots and a blouse – making them one of the most cost-effective pieces when it comes to price-per-wear.

Who said jumpers had to be boring? Definitely, not Mango after designing this fabulous little number. 14. Classic belted trench - £89.99

Each season, there is an influx of new ‘must-have’ items that make their way into our wardrobes. Whilst some silhouettes are ‘new’ – such as the sweater-vest or Peter Pan collared shirt, both of which are gaining cult status this season – there are some fail-safe wardrobe heroes that slip through the fashion net. And this Autumn, it appears to be the timeless trench coat.

After searching the high-street for a trench coat that looks high-quality, but with a lower-looking budget, this really may just be the one. Not only is water-repellent making it both practical and pretty, but the tortoiseshell buttons make it look eloquent than what the price tag would suggest.

15. Olive Green Platform Boots - £59.99

Speaking of water-repellent, fashion-forward rain boots are becoming a big hit this season. After making their way on the catwalks of both Prada and Bottega Veneta this season, they got rid of their stuck-in-the-mud association, and instead became acceptable to wear as a fashion-conscious person.

Extra big kudos to Mango for creating this pair in the most opulent olive green. Not only could they be your go-to shoe for walking your dog or a staycation trip, but they’re pretty enough to be worn casually on a weekend.
