Autumn Ways to Dress Your Home
Give your home an Autumnal make over with just a few simple accessories.
It’s officially colder and now more than ever it’s important to make our homes a safe, cosy haven away from the stress and worry of the world right now. Whether you’re still WFH and need a change of scenery, or you’re back at work and need somewhere warm and calm to come back to after a busy day, a seasonal décor change can make all the difference.
We’re not talking a huge interior make over here so there’s no need to don your overalls and crack out the cans of paint you’ll be pleased to know. Instead, simply switching up your soft furnishings and stocking up on some cute new seasonal accessories can make all the difference – and once Spring rolls around you can pop them into storage ready for next year.

Nothing adds a quick seasonal flair to your home quite like a wreath does. Whether you hang it on your front door, over the sofa or in a window, it’s the quickest way to make a nod to Autumn.
Pumpkins might be a little bit of a cliched Autumn accessory, but these cute check fabric versions give us a minimalist fresh take on the traditional style. Pop them along your mantlepiece or windowsill, or even in a bowl on your coffee table for a unique centrepiece. You can even mix them in with the real thing – try painting them in colours that compliment your living room for a chic look.
Move away from the bright white candles with fresh scents of Summer, and instead opt for darker colours with warmer, more earthy scents, such as this Black Oudh scented one, with woody oriental notes. Turning down the main lights and instead lighting a few candles around the room is guaranteed to make any space feel cosier, not to mention the delicious smells can be super comforting after a long day.
Cosy throws are the cornerstone of every good cosy home. Opt for soft knits with fringing detail like this one from Nordic Nest to add texture and style, whilst still being perfect for snuggling under in front of the TV.
Cosy neutrals are perfect for an Autumnal shift in décor – velvets, knits and furs are not only incredibly comfortable, but they can make any interior look immediately more luxurious. Pair with colours like browns, ochres and mustard, or go all out with a deep rust shade for a pop of colour. The best bit is, they can work year-round – just switch out your colours for something brighter and more Summery in the warmer months.
Wicker works year round, and this peacock is definitely having it’s moment right now. Drape In your favourite throws and cushions to soften it up and make it a real focal point of any room. If you prefer a bit of vintage and second hand shopping, you can just as easily snap one of these up on everything from eBay to Facebook market place at the moment, so you better be quick!
