Mid-week Menu | Immune Boosting Smoothie

A ray of sunshine, in a glass – packing in 4 of your 5 a day

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen or fresh banana
  • 1 apple
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 orange, peeled
  • The juice of 1/2 lemon
  • A small piece of fresh ginger and turmeric
  • A pinch of black pepper (to activate the turmeric)
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups of water to blend.

Method

Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If you’re not using frozen bananas, you might want to serve it with some ice cubes – smoothies always taste better when cold.
