Mid-week menu – Apple immune boosting smoothie
A ray of sunshine, in a glass – packing in 4 of your 5 a day
- 1 frozen or fresh banana
- 1 apple
- 1 carrot
- 1 orange, peeled
- The juice of 1/2 lemon
- A small piece of fresh ginger and turmeric
- A pinch of black pepper (to activate the turmeric)
- A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2 cups of water to blend.
Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If you’re not using frozen bananas, you might want to serve it with some ice cubes – smoothies always taste better when cold.
