This North East brand, spearheaded by local lass Kim White, focuses on creating high quality, minimalist designs. With every piece made using 100% recycled materials in either sterling silver or 9ct gold, the results are effortlessly bohemian, sustainable and stunning.
‘I believe jewellery is a beautiful extension of ourselves and should be worn to tell a story,’ Kim explains. ‘I make all our jewellery by hand slowly, intricately and purposefully, with the intention that it can be cherished for a lifetime and passed on as heirlooms.’
There’s no danger of fast fashion pieces with Daint, and thinking outside the box when it comes to jewellery crafting has helped Kim bring creativity and innovation to the fore with her previous collections – something perhaps best demonstrated by their Bespoke Northumberland Sea Glass Ring Gift Box, launched earlier this year, where customers were given the opportunity to effectively make their own jewellery.
And the time has come from a new launch – this time, of Daint’s quietly evocative Gold Collection.
‘For my 9ct Gold Collection, I wanted to create gold jewellery that’s elegant, dainty and timeless,’ Kim explains. ‘From a young age, I’ve been lucky enough to have been handed down gorgeous, gold jewellery heirlooms from my Grandma. I still have those pieces; I look after them dearly and I wear them on special occasions. This is what I envisioned when I was creating the 9ct Gold Collection; jewellery to be cherished.
‘With this in mind – and my love for the timeless combination of gold and pearls – my collection naturally leaned towards designing pieces that are perfect for bridal jewellery and bridesmaid gifts. The designs have been specifically curated to be worn not only on your wedding day but from thereon after. But this collection isn’t exclusive to brides; it’s designed for anyone looking to add a handmade piece to their jewellery collection that makes them feel special.’
Not only will Daint’s Gold Collection make you feel special from the outside, but you can also feel that warm, fuzzy glow on the inside knowing that the wedding jewellery you’re wearing is ultra-sustainable. Kim has brought innovation to the fore yet again to use what is known as ‘eco-gold’ in her designs, meaning all the gold has been extracted from used metal items. So, while there’s no difference in its quality from non-recycled gold, the element in your new jewellery will have helped protect the environment from harmful mining and co2 emissions.
