Have you seen the new Elvis film? Here’s how to make the best Elvis burger

The Elvis burger was The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s favourite food. A beef burger with a uniquely delicious blend of flavours and textures featuring creamy peanut butter, crispy bacon and sweet caramelised banana.

INGREDIENTS

80% lean ground beef

Salt and black pepper

Caramelized banana (banana + brown sugar)

Creamy peanut butter

Crisped bacon

Brioche buns

METHOD

How to caramelise banana

Peel the bananas. Cut each in half in the middle, and then cut each banana half in half length-wise so you end up with 8 pieces.

Spray a large nonstick pan with cooking spray, place the bananas inside, and sprinkle the brown sugar on top.

Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes (don’t flip). Remove from the heat, cover the top of the skillet with foil, and let the bananas sit while you cook the burgers.

How to make an Elvis burger

Cook the bacon until crispy. You can do this while you caramelise the banana.

Then grill the burgers. If you want, you can also toast the buns.

Now you’re ready to assemble the burgers. Spread peanut butter on the bottom half of a bun, top with a burger, caramelized banana, and bacon. Enjoy!
