Mid-week meal: Apple, cinnamon and hemp oats

Warm, nourishing breakfasts on frosty mornings = winning at winter

Serves: 1

INGREDIENTS:

For the oats:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tsp hemp protein powder
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 2 tsp sweet cinnamon
  • 2 tsp golden syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup oat milk

For the topping:

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp sweet cinnamon
  • 2 tsp golden syrup
  • 2 tbsp coconut cream

 

METHOD:

1.Slice your apple, place on a baking sheet, sprinkle lightly with cinnamon, drizzle over the golden syrup and bake at 180°C for roughly 15-20 mins (or until the sides start to curl and crisp up).

2. After your apple has been in the oven for about 10-15 mins, place your oats, hemp protein, chia seeds & cinnamon in a saucepan and pour over the water and milk.

3. Heat on a medium heat, drizzle in the golden syrup and stir until creamy.

4. Top with the coconut cream & baked apple.
