All things bright and beautiful – here are your Summer beauty trends

Ok, so the weather may be pretty miserable right now, but that hasn’t dented our high hopes of a glorious Summer spent in the sunshine… made all the brighter because – and you heard it here first – colour is back.

FOR FRESH-LOOKING SKIN…

Want to look youthful and glowing with minimal effort? Yes, please.

Get your hands on a colour correcting concealer. This will seriously channel summer vibes by keeping your skin looking like, well, skin – but ever so slightly smoother!

Try the Kalme Chameleon Concealer for all of your correcting and coverage needs. This product has won a load of awards, (probably thanks to its tone-matching technology) and is one of the best for your undereye are or to cover blemishes, with SPF 20, prebiotics and anti-redness tech to give you the freshest of skin tones.

FOR ROSY CHEEKS…

Cheeks with a rosy, youthful blush are also on-trend this Summer.

To nail the look, give the Trinny London Lip2Cheek multitasking products a go. Our favourite is Pia – a cheerful, bold pink that gives the perfect pop of colour on our cheeks.

We’re also massive fans of the Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Stick, which adds a gorgeous, shimmery effect across the cheeks and nose. We’re Beach Bums every time!

FOR DYNAMIC LINER…

Go graphic! Although Dua Lipa has been sporting the graphic liner look for a while, the rest of us may not have been feeling quite so brave… But the time has now come to step out of our comfort zones, grab our favourite liquid liner and get graphic!

Black liner is always in and we love a strong staple for the lash line, but this Summer we want to go BOLD – so let’s be having you, shape and colour! Let’s make our eyes the main attraction this year!

The NYX Epic Wear Liner in Sapphire is a good way to dip your toe into the colourful liner pool. Blue eyeliner may not be revolutionary, but practise makes perfect and we feel blue is the safest colour to get started with. Already a pro? We dare you to try sunshine yellow.

If liquid liner isn’t your cup of tea, we’d recommend Marc Jacob Beauty Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon. Creamy and pigmented, our favourite shades are Out of the Blue, Grape Vine, and Mist Me.

FOR PLUMP LIPS…

Lip stains and glosses are back with a bang this Summer. And with mask-wearing not looking like it’s going anywhere anytime soon, it’s important we find a way to maintain that colour.

That’s why, for us, we’d go for a lip stain every time. Yves Saint Laurent have combined their lip gloss formular with the fashionable lip stain to create their Vernis à Lévres Water Stain Lip Gloss. And sticking with the theme of bright colours, we’re fangirling over bestselling shade 605 Bain De Corail.

If you’d prefer a lip stain that doesn’t have a glossy finish, the Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment could be a good option for you. Our favourite brights have to be Light My Fire and Vain – each gives a gorgeous, warm-toned lip look that’ll keep you looking effortlessly chic this Summer.

FOR BRIGHT EYES…

Graphic liner isn’t the only eye trend making headlines this Summer – bright matte eye shadow is back and it’s set to be bigger than ever.

Try pairing a glowing base, fluffy brows and a nude lip with bright pink, orange, or red eyeshadow. No, we promise you won’t look too much like ‘80s Cyndi Lauper (not that that’s a bad thing!) but we can promise you’ll nail a look we’ve been seeing on all the S/S21 catwalks.

To nail the look, get our hands on the By Beauty Bay Bright Matte 9 Colour Palette. The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is phenomenal, but the best thing about it is the price –£6.50?! It’s a steal!
